BLAZING PADDLES
November 30th, 2009
Keeping in touch
- Congratulations Chantry Edwards (and dad Jared of course) on your 8 lbs 9oz BABY GIRL; Harmony Vive Edwards MacAdam
Plans for our participation in this event are moving forward. Watch on the website under 'Initiatives' for ongoing updates. The November update has lots of info about the social activities planned for the participants.
Interested officials (whitewater included!) are asked to sign up now as we must register you well in advance and we would like to know if there is a need to recruit. We would like to have a cross section of levels participating to provide many learning opportunities.
The International Canoe Federation has set up a PaddleAbility Facebook site. Add the group to keep on top of any recent international activities as we all work towards having CanoeKayak included in the 2016 Paralympic Games.
Join your fellow CKBC members for an evening of celebration at the Golden Eagle Golf Club. A buffet dinner will combined with a silent auction, slide show, celebration of achievements and a dance.
Limited tickets are available and must be purchased/ordered prior to December 1st. Please order each members ticket online (and separately).

Sprint in 2010
Sprint coaches met last week for professional development at a well received CKC/CKBC Coaching Symposium that saw representation from across Canada. CKC Development Coach Rob Stott also took the opportuntiy to supervise a practice at Burnaby Lake.
Following the conference the BC coaches met to establish a competition schedule that is built on development principles and illustrates some innovative thinking. Members will be briefly introduced to the programs at the Awards Banquet and clubs are asked to invite our Executive Director to one of your general club meetings to explain the programs in greater detail to board members and parents. Clubs will be provided with hosting opportunities early in December.
